From secluded, sprawling multi-million dollar properties, Rumson is situated on a peninsula bounded by the Shrewsbury and Navesink Rivers, located in the north east of New Jersey's Monmouth County. The Rumson real estate market is highly varied and offers a unique New Jersey lifestyle.

The first purchase is dated January 25, 1665, and it included parts of Middletown. The rest of the area was purchased April 7, 1665 and June 5, 1665.
